“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
– MLK Jr.
Lately, I’ve been focused on learning, more than anything else. I love learning new things. I love to test my limits and prove things to myself. But I am a bit of a perfectionist. So change is both an exciting and uncomfortable space to inhabit.
As I fumble through the awkwardness of fledgling skills, I seem to forget all the old ones I once knew. I could quit. I could hide in my corner and decide I’m good enough already. Or I can move through. I can press forward until I am better and changed.
That’s my mantra this year. Move through. And it’s what I plan to do in every uncomfortable place I may find myself.
Today we are inaugurating a new president. Some may be excited by this change and some may be uncomfortable, or even fearful. My hope is that those who fear don’t let it make them stagnant. We have to move through the discomfort to go forward and grow.

And I have one more.
If you feel fear, hatred, or darkness around you right now, get ready to blast those suckers with love and light. It’s time to #sharethegood with everyone you know.
Let’s project the values we hope to see in our country.
I can’t wait to see what good you decide to share today.
