I grew up in California and I usually fly home a couple of times a year. But this year, between weddings and other occasions, I made the cross-country trip four times in just over that many months.
In November, I was home for some early Thanksgiving festivities with my family when my mom asked me to take a few family portraits.
Let me tell you, it’s dang tricky to take family portraits when you’re trying to be in them. Especially with a broken-legged tripod borrowed from a friend at the last minute.
But you work with what you’ve got. And on a beach with my family during a gorgeous glowing sunset, I’m very glad I got to make these.
